I was hoping to be ready to share the first chapter with you all today, but it looks like I’ll need just one more week. In lieu of kicking that off, here are some teasers and fun facts about the writing and revision of FoA.
Things I've googled in the course of writing and revising the book:
can you live with only one lung?
list of transitional metals
how to make a homonculus
affectionate term for “mom” in hindi
famous alchemical texts
weirdest things alchemists tried to do
what's the inside of a pumpkin called?

People who have been upset after finishing the book: 2
To be fair, they say that they enjoyed the book! They were just upset that they didn’t know it was a novella, and therefore on the shorter side, and the ending caught them unawares. I will probably be putting a disclaimer at the beginning of the new e-book to give people a proper warning since it’s hard to see how long a book is in digital format
Songs written about the book: 1
I won a giveaway from the incredible Wonder Truly, and she has written and produced a book trailer song for Flowers of Antimony. I heard a sample of it not long ago and I think it’s just the best. It fits the mood of the book perfectly, and the lyrics just tore my little heart out. I can’t wait to share it with you as soon as it’s done.
FoA-themed gifts I’ve received: 1
One of my dearest friends did the audiobook narration for the earlier version of Flowers of Antimony, and she gifted me a Seraphinite necklace when all was said and done. What does Seraphinite have to do with anything? You’ll see!
Next week I’ll post Chapter 1, a new book cover, and maybe (just maybe) the book trailer song.
I can’t wait!!!
