Love Letters
This summer, Holly Lynn Walrath offered a course called, “A Nature Poet’s Field Guide.” I jumped on it, of course, and spent a month doing one of my favorite things: writing love letters to the earth.
You’ve probably seen a few of the poems that came from that course already.
But there’s one poem I haven’t shared here yet. It’s my favorite poem to come from that course, and I included it in my first zine, “Naming the World.”
If you’d like to read this poem, Holly was kind enough to share it in her article on writing poetry about the green spaces in your life. If you’re a poetry-class-kind-of-person, I highly recommend Holly. And if you’re a writer in general, Holly’s newsletter is always jam-packed with great resources and tips.
As I get back into doing art fairs, I’ve taken a few of my poems, printed them out, and added some inky embellishments. They’re certainly fun to do, and several sold at the last fair I did, but I’m not decided yet on whether I’ll keep it up.
Thanks for reading!
